I saw an unfamiliar ticker on Binance Futures – and the first logical question is: what is this coin anyway? No whitepaper, no GitHub, no "tokenomics". Because it's not a token. It's something else – and it's worth understanding before opening a position.
What SKHYNIXUSDT is: a synthetic, not crypto
SKHYNIXUSDT is a perpetual contract on Binance Futures. Not a real stock, not a project token. It's a synthetic settled in USDT, whose price is pegged to the quote of SK Hynix Inc. on the Korean exchange KRX (ticker 000660).
The mechanics are exactly the same as BTCUSDT perpetual: you open a long or short, the counterparty is Binance, settlement in dollars, and there's a funding rate. The only difference is that the underlying asset is not bitcoin, but the stock of the Korean chipmaker. You don't receive a physical share – only P&L in USDT. Funding works the same way: if the perpetual is trading above the spot, longs pay shorts, and vice versa. Monitor the rate before leaving a position overnight.
The ticker appeared on Binance in June 2026 – the history on the futures chart is very short. More on this below.
Who is SK Hynix and why is it hot right now
SK Hynix is the second-largest memory chip manufacturer in the world, right after Samsung. Its headquarters are in Icheon, South Korea. It's part of the SK Group conglomerate, which also includes petrochemicals and telecommunications, meaning the holding company is diversified at the group level.
Main business: DRAM (DDR5 for servers and gaming PCs), NAND-flash (after acquiring Solidigm from Intel), and – most importantly right now – High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). This is where the main AI use case lies.
HBM3E is the next-generation memory chip, essential for AI GPUs like NVIDIA H100, H200, and Blackwell. SK Hynix is the de facto monopolist in HBM3E supplies to NVIDIA. Samsung is lagging, Micron is catching up, but the gap is currently real. As hyperscalers like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Meta continue to increase their AI capex, demand for HBM grows, and SK Hynix is at the front of this queue.
In parallel, there's the HBM4 race – the next generation. The company is building new fab plants in Cheongju and Yongin. The capex is significant, and the stakes are high.
In a nutshell: SK Hynix right now is a bet on AI hardware, not software or models. Real demand, real contracts with NVIDIA.
Chart on Binance is short. Look at KRX
Here's the problem for a crypto trader: the ticker was added in June 2026, so the history on Binance Futures is in weeks, not years. Building technical analysis on this chart is pointless.
The solution is simple: open TradingView or Yahoo Finance, look up KRX:SKHYNIX – on a daily timeframe. There you'll find the complete history with real MAs.

Data as of June 2, 2026:
- Price: ₩2,360,000
- 52-week range: ₩207,500 – ₩2,363,000 (price at the upper boundary – 100% of the range)
- MA50: ₩1,408,840 – price is 67.5% above
- MA100: ₩1,136,770 – price is 107.6% above
- MA150: ₩946,533 – price is 149.3% above
- MA200: ₩789,670 – price is 198.9% above
The price is above all four moving averages – this is the definition of a strong uptrend. The picture is unambiguous.
How to read MAs for trading decisions
The model is simple and works for both stocks and crypto:
- Above all 4 MAs – strong uptrend. Long is reasonable on a retest of the MA from below – don't chase the price.
- A drop below MA50 – the first sign of weakness, tighten risk management.
- A breakout above MA200 after a long period below it – a bullish long-term signal (already in the past here).
- Price below MA200 – long-term caution, longs are only speculative.
Currently, SKHYNIX is far above all MAs – a retest of MA50 at around ₩1.4 million would be a healthy correction and a normal entry point. Chasing the price at its yearly high is like catching a falling knife in reverse: you're buying overheated.
A separate pattern is quarterly earnings. Earnings are released once a quarter: after strong results, there can be a post-earnings gap up, and after weak results – a gap down. These are tradable events if you know how to work with gaps.
Important: how KRX works and what it means for Binance
Korea Exchange operates from 09:00 to 15:30 KST, which is approximately 03:00 to 09:30 MSK. The Korean exchange is closed at other times.
While KRX is closed, the SKHYNIXUSDT quote on Binance freezes at the last price. Liquidity is thin, and the spread can be wide. When KRX opens, a gap is possible if significant news about the company, the DRAM market, or NVIDIA emerged overnight (Korean time).
Practical conclusion: the main trading activity for SKHYNIXUSDT is within the 03:00–10:00 MSK window. Outside of these hours, either don't trade, or understand that you are entering a low-liquidity market with the risk of a gap.
Advantages and risks
What works in favor of the position
- SK Hynix is the monopolist of HBM3E for NVIDIA, with real contracts.
- Hyperscalers' AI capex continues – demand for HBM is structural, not speculative.
- Price is above all MAs, the trend is working.
- The synthetic allows trading the asset without a Korean brokerage account.
What can kill the position
- Slowing AI capex of hyperscalers – the main systemic risk for the entire sector.
- Samsung or Micron catching up in HBM4 – loss of the monopoly premium.
- High capex puts pressure on FCF (free cash flow) in the short term.
- Trade wars / sanctions / chip export restrictions – political risk for KRX.
- Gaps at the open after KRX's closed session – specificity of synthetics.
- The chart on Binance is short: no internal history for full TA.

Conclusion
SKHYNIXUSDT is not another meme coin or DeFi token. It's a tool that gives crypto traders access to a real bet on AI hardware through the familiar Binance Futures interface. SK Hynix is at the center of the HBM cycle – and as long as NVIDIA is scaling up Blackwell production, this position is structurally sound.
But here's the catch: the trend is strong, the price is at its yearly high, and chasing it now is suicidal. Wait for a retest of MA50 or trade the quarterly earnings with a clear stop. This is a tool with fundamentals – but without risk management, no fundamentals will save you.
"SKHYNIX is not a crypto narrative, it's a bet on real business: the monopolist of HBM3E for NVIDIA amidst the AI capex boom. The price is above all MAs – the trend is working, but entry only on a retest, not chasing."
