Crypto Market is Changing: IRYS and BIRB are at the Top Today

Today, the Binance Futures top-10 by volume looks so unusual you want to rub your eyes. BTC — $8.1B, ETH — $5.1B, and right in third place — IRYS with $2.9B. More than SOL. Nearby — BIRB in tenth place with $881M. Between them: tokenized shares of SanDisk and semiconductors, gold, oil. Six out of ten positions are instruments less than a year old.

This is no coincidence. This is the market voting with liquidity for new narratives.

What Changed in the Market

The old picture was predictable: BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP — there is your volume top. Now, alongside crypto blue chips, they trade tokenized SanDisk (SNDK, $1.9B) and a semiconductor ETF (SOXL, $1.7B), XAU — gold ($1.4B), CL — oil ($943M). TradFi has entered Binance Futures and feels quite comfortable there.

But here is the real story: out of "pure crypto", it was not the veterans that surged today, but IRYS (+61.6%) and BIRB (+63%). This is a signal of liquidity rotation — money is flowing to where there is volatility and a narrative that has not yet been played out.

IRYS: AI Datachain or a One-Time Flush

IRYS is Irys, a "programmable datachain": an L1 blockchain for storing and processing data on-chain, positioned for AI infrastructure. Founder Josh Benaron previously built Bundlr, an Arweave scaling layer. A $10M Series A led by CoinFund closed in 2025, with total funding around $20M. Mainnet launched in November 2025; prior to that, the testnet generated 900+ million data transactions and 4+ million wallets. Perpetual futures on Binance appeared on 11/26/2025.

On paper, it's an interesting case: a real product, a clear narrative (AI + data), and live testnet metrics.

In reality, look at the candle.

Within 24 hours, IRYS moved through a range from $0.037 to $0.504. The current price is around $0.064. The upper wick is almost eight times higher than the current price. The all-time high (ATH) for the coin's entire history is $0.087 (May 2026). This means the intraday spike flew five times higher than the historical maximum.

This is a classic stop-hunt on a thin order book. Shorts were squeezed, liquidity was collected, and the price returned. A volume of $2.87B on such a move speaks not of long-term buyers, but of perpetuals working both ways with leverage.

The coin's ATL is $0.012 (July 2026). It is currently $0.064. If IRYS is truly starting a recovery cycle, that's one story. If it was a one-time pump before a pullback, it's another. The fundamentals are there. But $0.064 after a wick to $0.504 is not an entry point; it's a watch zone.

BIRB: Owls on Solana and a Tokenomics Story

BIRB is the token of the Moonbirds ecosystem, the very NFT collection with "owls" that Orange Cap Games bought from Yuga Labs in May 2025. The token was announced at Token 2049 in Singapore in October 2025 and launched on Solana with an FDV of around $200M.

Immediately after the tokenomics were published, the floor price of the NFT collection dropped by more than 30%. Degens who held owls hoping for an airdrop did not appreciate the terms — 27% of the supply goes to the community, but the distribution details clearly upset someone.

Today, BIRB is up +63%, price is around $0.111, daily range $0.065 — $0.209. Volume is $881M. Leverage on Binance is up to 50x, with funding every four hours.

An NFT brand on Solana is a narrative the market loves. Moonbirds is a recognizable name in the NFT space. But a $200M FDV with lingering questions about tokenomics and the floor price drop is an overhang that hasn't gone anywhere. DCA-ing here without understanding the supply structure is suicide.

Two Scenarios — Two Different Strategies

Scenario A: Consolidation and Continuation (~40%)

After the daily pump, IRYS and BIRB go sideways, accumulating volume at compressed levels. For IRYS, the key zone is holding above $0.050 and forming a base. For BIRB, it's holding above $0.090 with compression towards $0.140. If volume doesn't dry up and funding doesn't go to an extreme positive, entering with a small part of a position with a tight stop can be considered.

Scenario B: Pullback to the Base After the Pump (~60%)

Classically, after a +60% day with wicks through ATH, it's a "dead cat bounce" for those who bought at the highs. For IRYS, the first support is $0.045–0.050, lower is $0.030 (the zone of the previous move). For BIRB, it's $0.075–0.080. Funding with 50x leverage in such a situation cuts positions quickly. Catching a falling knife after a day like this means taking a loss you wouldn't see in your worst nightmares.

The probability of a pullback is higher simply because the daily wicks provide no orientation. The market will show the true level only after consolidation.

What This Means for You

The market is changing — this is a fact, not hype. When a coin with a history of less than a year and an ATH of $0.087 crawls into the top-3 by volume on Binance Futures, and today's wick reached $0.504, it points to one thing: liquidity is looking for movement, not fundamentals.

IRYS, with its AI narrative and real mainnet, is more interesting than BIRB from a "case study" standpoint. But neither of them offers a normal entry point today after a day like this.

The rule is simple: wait for consolidation, watch volume and funding, don't jump in with leverage on an asset that prints wicks eight times higher than the price in a single day. If they chop in a flat — we observe. If they build a base — we calculate the levels.
